Kathmandu: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that the monsoon’s effect is currently weak across the country, with local winds dominating weather patterns. As a result, cloudy conditions and rainfall are expected, particularly in hilly regions.

Afternoon Weather Outlook

This afternoon, hilly areas of all provinces will be generally cloudy, while other regions will remain partly cloudy. Moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely in parts of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, while a few hilly areas of other provinces may also receive rainfall. Light rain is possible at one or two places in the Terai region.

The Division has also warned of the possibility of heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, urging the public to remain cautious.

Nighttime Conditions

Tonight, the hilly areas of Gandaki and Sudurpaschim Provinces are expected to be generally cloudy, while other provinces will see partly cloudy skies. Moderate rainfall is likely in some areas of Gandaki and a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces. Light rain is also expected in one or two places of the remaining provinces.
